Tips on Teething

Posted .

Teething is a process that all healthy children must endure within their first few years of life. It’s the effect of teeth erupting above the gumline for the first time, and it’s a painful experience for your little ones. Here are some things you’ll want to know as you help them as they get their baby teeth:

– As soon as teeth begin to break above the surface of the gums, teething systems should be applied to help your child.
– What are the signs of teething? Look for amplified irritability, extreme fussiness, difficulty sleeping, decreased appetite, and increased drooling.
-How do you treat teething? The main pain relief is to use cool or damp materials gently pressed against your child’s gums. You can use a cold washcloth, small chilled spoons, teething rings, and even your finger if it has been disinfected.
-You’ll want to schedule an appointment with Dr. Troy Hardy around the child’s first birthday or after the first tooth appears above the gumline.

If you need teeth treatment from Dr. Troy Hardy, please book an appointment to come see us at Copper Cove Pediatric Dentistry in Herriman, Utah. We can be reached at 801-446-2080. We’re here to help you and your child be smile-healthy and smile-happy.
